Bluenose, a 285 ton schooner, is the fantastic winner of the 1921 "International Fisherman's Trophy". This regatta was held, alternate year, off Lunenberg in Nova Scotia and Gloucester in New England.
Entry to the contest was strictly confined to genuine fishing vessels. Bluenose was entered for the challenge in 1921 and from then on she won every single race for which she was entered.

 The need to get cedar and ebony wood, myrrh and a particular golden alloy, called "electum", pushed the Egyptians to build suitable ships for navigation on the open sea, so that they could reach Syria or cross the Red Sea. A bas relief discovered in the King Sahure temple allowed the reconstruction of this model, made enchanting by the particular construction of the hull.
Plank-on-frame kit is one of the most interesting we offer, as it accurately reproduces this ancient construction technique. Pre-cut parts and a 16 page instruction book with full scale plans make building easy. Kit also includes pre-sewn sails and rigging in five diameters.

 The most famous and characteristic boat in the
Venetian Lagoon is the gondola, built after the traditional Venetian system, using different kinds of wood, depending on the function of each single structure. It has a flat bottom hull, with an asymmetrical shape in respect to the longitudinal axis and both ends of the hull are lifted upwards.
Amati's model represents a gondola dated 1882 from drawings of the period made by admiral Acton, the Ministry of the Navy at that time.  Based on a sculpture in the Louvre in Paris, Amati's model is a faithful reproduction of a typical Greek bireme. A fast and fearsome battleship, the bireme was manned by 44 oarsmen working two banks of oars. The protruding bow was a useful tool for ramming enemy ships.

 The Greek war of Independence (1821 - 1827) is mainly known for the naval fight of Navarino. That war was characterized by the numerous combats of the Greek privateers against the Turkish ships. These galliots were very swift, with shallow draft. They could hide inside the narrow gulfs of the Aegean Islands, and then attack the Turkish ships.

Originally built as a sloop by the great naval architect Thomas Slade, who also designed the H.M.S. Victory, Granado was launched on June 20, 1742. She worked at intelligence gathering and intercepting smugglers and privateers. With the impending Seven Years' War, the Admiralty converted her to a bomb vessel in 1765. As a bomb vessel she performed her duties admirably and ended her career with the close of the Seven Years' War in 1763.
Amati's Granado is an accurate scale replica, based on original Admiralty plans still in existence. Double-planked kit uses laser-cut birch for keel and bulkheads, high quality walnut for timberheads, rail supports, rudder and other wooden parts. Fittings package consists of walnut belaying pins, blocks and deadeyes, gilded metal canon, brass swivel guns, blackened metal anchor and three diameters of rigging line. Swan Class Sloop 1775
 The British Admiralty commissioned a sixth rate Swan Class sloop in August of 1775. The keel was laid in January, 1776 and H.M.S. Fly slid off the launching ways on September 14, 1776. She displaced 300 tons, measured 97' and 7" on deck and carried a crew of 125. Sixteen cannon and 16 swivel guns served as armament. Sleek hull lines and lavish ornamentation contributed to her beauty. Not much remains about her career history, except that she captured two French privateers. She was lost off the coast of New Foundland in 1802.
Amati’s kit is based on original Admiralty plans plus many contemporary sources. Double plank-on-bulkhead construction uses high quality birch for structural parts.  In 1620 the English galleon Mayflower set out from the English port of Southampton with 102 pilgrims on board. because of bad weather, the crossing took 77 days. On December 21 the ship landed at what is today Plymouth, Massachusetts.

 The 70 ft. long Oseberg was found in Norway near the town of Oseberg in 1903. It was buried under many layers of peat and stones, resting on a bed of clay. The oar and sail driven ship was built in the latter half of the 9th century and was buried approximately 50 years later. Historians believe that the Oseberg is nearly 100 years older than any other Viking ship previously discovered. Amati's model is based on this famous 9th century Viking ship.
