The steam powered tug Anteo was built in Italy before WWII. She was incorporated into the Italian Navy during the war, and is still in use today. These tugs were built in large numbers before WWII, and many are still in use in Italian ports.This kit from Mantua is double-planked using two layers of sturdy limewood. Keel, bulkheads and decks are laser cut, and specifically designed to accommodate radio control equipment. High quality fittings include bulwarks and windows in photo-etched brass, rubber bumpers, turned wooden barrels, and operational anchor winch. Seven sheets of plans, based on original plans, provide typical layout for radio control. Stuffing box alignment to motor requires advanced modeling skills. Kit includes stuffing box, shaft and propeller.

Mantua's H.M.S.Victory is armed with 104 machine turned brass cannon and two carronades. Strops, eyelets, rings, stanchions and hinges are all made of brass. Cast metal figurehead, bronzed metal gun port lids and three diameters of rigging line are also provided. Six giant sheets of plans are exceptionally detailed. Heyerdahl's theory was met by a storm of protest, since it was widely believed the islands had been populated from the Indonesia. One of the arguments was the lack of evidence that the Pre-Colombian Indians of South America had sea-going vessels capable of crossing the enormous expanse of ocean between their continent and Polynesia. Heyerdahl decided to prove his theory by duplicating the legendary voyage. He built a replica of an Indian balsa wood raft and set sail from Peru on April 28, 1947 with five other adventurers. After three months on the open sea, encountering raging storms, whales and sharks, they sighted land - the Polynesian island of Puka Puka. Build your own Kon-Tiki just like the original raft! Mantua's kit is built using balsa logs tied with rope to form a water-tight platform. The top of the platform, which serves as the deck, is finished with woven balsa strips. A deck-house, built of basswood strips and covered with laser-cut wooden pieces to simulate a thatched roof, protects the crew from the elements. Kit also includes canvas window flaps and sail material, plus a pattern for the painted sail decoration. Mantua Model’s RMS Titanic is a monumental achievement not only in size, but in historical authenticity, scale accuracy and quality of materials. Laser cut wooden keel and frames give the hull strength and double planking assures a smooth and beautiful exterior. Decks are planked with white maple strips and are complete with cabins, doors and windows. Intricate laser cuts are used for decorative detailing.
