BOOTH BAY LOBSTER BOAT

model boatIf you thought wooden boats are too hard to build, we've got a surprise for you. Midwest's Boothbay Lobster Boat kit uses ingenious interlocking, self-aligning frames and decks that are impossible to mis-align. And, the keel is built from only four machined and sanded wooden parts. Everything is included in this kit: steering gear, high quality bushed stuffing box, shaft, fiberglass cloth and molded plastic prop. The prop shaft and stuffing tube are bushed on each end. The mahogany instrument panel is complete with instruments, and there are lobsters for the traps. Hull planking is kept to a minimum with only four strips of balsa. Plan provides excellent construction steps, and the instruction manual covers everything including painting, detailing and more.

47' COAST GUARD LIFEBOAT

Wooden construction features jig-lock assembly for deckhouse and superstructure and basswood hull sheeting with lightweight fiberglass cloth. Extruded rubber bumpers and over four dozen high quality metal castings assure easy building. ELLIOT BAY STEAM LAUNCH

model boat There was a time when going for a ride around the lake in a steam powered launch was one of the most relaxing things you could do. Well, now you can relive this time with Midwest's latest Success Series kit. Assembly is simple and rewarding, and besides the Heritage Steam Engine, 2-channel radio and paint, there's little else you'll need, because the hull, deck and canopy are pre-made from vacuum-formed plastic parts. You won't have to hassle with building a strip planked hull. The hull features an integral, all wood inner backbone to which the radio equipment and all wood interior components are attached.
The interior of the hull is finished using real mahogany parts, featuring pre-scribed flooring and staving. On deck, you'll use mahogany rub rails and laser cut coaming cap rail. The fittings are accurately cast from a high quality, lead-free metal and further enhance the looks of the model.
All necessary running hardware including stainless steel prop shaft, brass stuffing tube and brass propeller come with your kit.

STEAM ENGINE There is a certain mystique attached to operating steam engines that is shared by no other form of motive power. Now you can experience this feeling with this kit. This new engine is pre-assembled and can be made operable in less than an hour. This item is NOT recommended for children without adult supervision!
The kit features a completely pre-assembled single cylinder oscillating engine with a cast bronze mainframe with brass bushings and machined brass flywheel, piston and cylinder assembly. a completely pre-soldered vertical boiler made from copper components with brass exhaust stack, pressure relief valve, brass boiler jacket and bands, insulation material and mahogany lagging and a 3" x 5" mahogany base for mounting or display.
The engine is designed for easy operation. The boiler holds 3 ounces of tap water, uses "Sterno" for fuel, and runs for 20-30 minutes at a time.
