The PD 230/E is designed for those who appreciate quality. However, to use the lathe does not mean you need to be a professional turner. The handbook is detailed and easy to understand. The lathe runs quietly and is small and light enough to be packed away after each usage. The center height and distance between centers are sufficient for a multitude of tasks.
Usable on materials such as plastic, steel, brass and aluminum. Complete with automatic feed, thread cutting capability, headstock chuck, live center and top slide for taper turning. Used to part turn and cut tapers. The numerous optional accessories (see below) allow one to drill, mill and slot.

- Gear casing with a table showing the appropriate speed for the material and diameter.
- Combination of three speeds (attained by swapping drive belt position) and electronic speed control yield speeds of 100 to 3,000 rpm.
- Enclosed leadscrew for automatic feed of .002" or .004" / revolution (0.05 or 0.1mm).
- Cast iron bed with ground prism for tool rest and tailstock ensures minimal deflection, even at high loads.

- The 1MT (short) spindle has a bore .4" (10.5mm). It runs in precision ball bearings, yielding an accuracy of .004" (0.01mm) without chuck.
- The tread cutting capability covers the most important pitches of .02", .25",.028",.03",.031",.04",.05",.06" (0.5, 0.625,0.7,0.75,0.8,1.0,1.25 and 1.5mm).
- The lathe offers you as well the possibility to cut inch system based threads. It is possible to turn the most required thread diameters with thread pitches from 16 to 64 T.P.I. (threads per inch).
- Spindle speeds are changed by means of a belt an offers 300, 900 and 3,000 rpm.
- The electronic speed control further extends the speed range down to 100 rpm, which is important when cutting threads.
- The automatic feed offers .002" and .004" (H1 and 0.1mm) per revolution.
- The tailstock spindle has a MT l (short) bore and 1.2" (30mm) travel.
- The 110-120V motor is fitted with a forward/reverse switch.
- The three jaw chuck offers .08" to 1.4" (2-35mm) capacity (internal jaws) and .9" to 2.7" (24-68mm) (external jaws).
- The hand wheels are fitted with zero adjustable scales. One revolution equals .04" (1mm) feed (40 divisions) and hence .001"/division (0.025mm).
