HMS Peregrine 1:96 Scale
H.M.S. Peregrine was built in 1686 for the fleet of King George III as a sixth rate vessel. Carrying 18 small-caliber cannon, she was too lightly armed to participate in the important naval battles of the day. Instead, she was used for escort duty and to transport important persons and messages.
Based on original Admiralty plans, Corel’s kit replicates the H.M.S. Peregrine after a late 17th century overhaul, when her small spritsail-topsail mast was replaced by the jib boom as an extension of the bowsprit. Plank-on-bulkhead construction features pre-cut wooden parts and double planked hull.
Corel’s HMS Peregrine 1:96 Scale kit contains highly detailed cast metal parts are used for ornamentation, anchors, mast caps, chainplates, gunport frames and other details. Burnished metal cannon provide fire-power. Hardwood blocks and deadeyes, brass nails, three diameters of rigging, silk-screened flags and pennants, cotton sailcloth are also included.Six sheets of plans by Bruno Volonte and clearly written instruction manual take you through assembly.
